State police at Bethlehem
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to Riverview Road, North Whitehall Township, to investigate a harassment by physical contact incident that was referred to them by Children & Youth officials.
They said the alleged victims are a boy and girl, both age 6, from Slatington.
• Police are investigating a theft that was reported to them by a 59-year-old Slatington woman.
They said they responded at 10:39 p.m. Aug. 14 to the Old Post Inn, Washington Township, for a reported loss of about $182 from fraudulent lottery/skills machine tickets. They said suspects attempted to cash several other fraudulent tickets but fled when the fraud was discovered by Old Post Inn staff.
Police said the bogus tickets were seized as evidence.
• A 49-year-old Slatington woman is the victim of a theft by deception/impersonation incident they responded to at 5:30 p.m. July 29 at Red Hill Road, North Whitehall Township.
They said she fell victim to a money lending scam, resulting in a loss of $936.66.
• A 36-year-old Slatington woman is facing charges of violating a Protection From Abuse court order after police were called to Catasauqua High School, Allen Township, at 5:58 p.m. Aug. 25.
Police said victims of the incident are a 39-year-old man and three youths, ages 6, 7 and 8, all from Palmerton.
Police said their investigation revealed the woman violated the active order against her. They said the investigation continues regarding the extent of the physical altercation between the parties involved.
• Police responded to a welfare check at a property on Spring Valley Road, Washington Township, at 9:25 p.m. Aug. 17.
After forced entry was made into the residence, the homeowner was discovered to be deceased, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing, they said.
