The Panther Valley School Board on Wednesday handled these personnel items:

• Approved the resignation of Christy McLean, paraprofessional, retroactive to Aug. 29.

• Accepted the resignation of Julian Costa from the JSHS Yearbook effective immediately.

• Hired Shelia Anthony as a lunch monitor at the elementary school at a rate of $12.50 an hour, pending clearances. Rate to be paid with cafeteria funds.

• Hired Emma McGeehan as a paraprofessional at the elementary school at the contract rate, pending clearances.

• Appointed Ashley Price as an intermediate school teacher at a salary of $47,686 per the union contract.

• Appointed Marcel Barbeau as school safety and security coordinator for 2025-26 at a salary of $47,686.

• Approved conferences for Pamela Brubaker and Gregory Gauronsky totaling $418.

• Approved courses for Christine Kostecky, an elementary school nurse; Maria Wozniak and Elizabeth Hoherchak, elementary teacher; Richard Evanko, dean of students; Matthew Neifert and Tyler Mangold, intermediate school teachers; and Alysha Neff, JSHS teacher.

• Approved Panther Valley event security for the year: Melissa Gilbert, Richard Gilbert; Lauren Wall, Grace Goldsmith and Brice Millheim.

• Approved extracurricular and support activities as follows: Kimberly Bayer, percussion assistant; and Joseph Damiano, high school yearbook.

• Approved Marta McLaughlin as a mentor for Michaela Susko, new teacher.

• Approved Nancy Gardiner as a homebound instructor.

• Approved medical leave of absence to employee No. 1127, retroactive to Aug. 25 and continuing until further evaluation.

• Moving Lindsay Hittner and Alice Andrews, elementary teachers, into the master’s degree column of the union pay scale.

• Approved termination of employee No. 1173, retroactive to Aug. 29.
