Lansford Borough Council

Lansford Borough Council took action on the following items last week:

• Approved expenses totaling $246,318.89, CD balances totaling $889,053.73, and bank balances of $2,921,227.37.

Councilman Jack Soberick said the borough is still paying for the CLEAR investigative program for the police department, and noted that the system should be used for code enforcement as well.

• Tabled a request for a handicapped parking request for Annette Gosnell at 247 E. Bertsch St.

• Awarded a contract for $211,690 to Doli Construction Corp. for the Powell Street sewer project, and designated any contingency costs over 10% of the project just be approved by council.

• Approved a limit of $15,000 for the oversight and inspection service from ARRO Engineering for the Powell Street project.

• Approved having the emergency lights removed from the borough’s code enforcement vehicle, which are in violation of the motor vehicle code.

• Approved a change of the boundary line for lots at 704/708 E. Patterson St. property of Edrich Reality, as approved by the Carbon County Planning Commission on Aug. 19.

• Approved replacing 80 feet of sanitary sewer line in the 100 block of East Front Street due to numerous breaks as an emergency, seeking out quotes and going with the lowest one.
