September 15, 1961 — Lehighton uses a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to help post a 24-12 Lehigh Valley League comeback victory over visiting Stroudsburg. After trailing at the break, the Indians take the opening kickoff and drive for the tying score. A Bill Lindermuth 39-yard run and a 29-yard gain by Paul Keiser sets up Paul Diehl’s 1-yard plunge into the end zone. A 45-yard punt return by Lindenmuth gives the Tribe excellent field position on their next possession and he later gives his team the lead with a 5-yard TD run. Lehighton, coached by Tom Faulkner, add an insurance tally when Larry Stout connects with Bill Kirkendall on a 21-yard scoring toss.
