State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Adande Samuel, 35, of Albrightsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 8:33 p.m. Sept. 1 at the intersection of Patten and Pearson circles, Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2025 Nissan Rogue at the time of the crash, after which police said he displayed signs of impairment.

They said he was taken into custody after they conducted field sobriety testing and the was transported to their barracks for processing.

• Two people had suspected minor injuries after a hit-and-run crash at 11:38 a.m. Aug. 23 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said Yvonne M. Verruso, 52, and Margaret Verruso, 77, both of Brodheadsville, were injured but refused emergency medical services transports to a hospital.

They said Yvonne Verruso was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan northbound when it came to a stop to turn into a gas station and was struck from behind by a 2019 Ford whose driver fled the scene.

A third person in the Tiguan, Thomas Verruso, 47, also of Brodheadsville, was uninjured, police said.

Police said the Tiguan had minor damage.
