Palmerton Area Democratic Club to meet Wednesday, hear candidate

The Palmerton Area Democratic Club will hold its opening meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the back room of the Palmerton Pub, 302 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

The featured speaker will be Ryan Crosswell, 7th Congressional District candidate.

The meeting, which is free and open to the public, will be preceded by a social hour beginning at 5:45 p.m., with dinner served at 6:15 p.m.

A Pottsville native, Crosswell is a former federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section prosecuting corrupt public officials. He resigned from the DOJ when President Donald Trump attempted to force him to drop a case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Crosswell is also a Marine who continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve.

“I have dedicated my life to public service,” Crosswell said. “I’m committed to due process and the rule of law. I’m in this race to stand up for what’s right — to lower costs for Pennsylvanians, protect Social Security and Medicare, and fight attacks on our rights and freedoms and political corruption wherever it is found.”

Reservations and menu selections are requested to be texted to Marian Hoffner at 610-349-1697 by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The Palmerton Area Democratic Club meets monthly.
