One person was injured Monday afternoon when involved in a crash in Franklin Township. The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. as the driver was traveling south on Route 209 in the 4400 block. The driver apparently lost control, entering the right berm hitting a utility pole. The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. The Franklin Township fire company responded to the scene, assisting with the patient and maintaining traffic control, alternating lanes. The Franklin Township police are investigating the incident.
