The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors voted at its meeting last week to advertise for bids for a sidewalk project at the township’s Emergency Services Facility.
The supervisors said the project will be advertised after a bid package is finalized for the sidewalk at the facility located at 140 Firehouse Lane.
In another matter, the board announced it will apply for a Local Share Account grant request seeking $400,000 for a Timber Bridge project. The bridge is located on Altemose Drive.
The supervisors received a report from the West End Fire Company showing its members responded to 38 calls in August, increasing the year-to-date responses total to 340.
The board announced an American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the township building, and the Parks Department will hold an “Intro to Archery” class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Effort United Methodist Church.
The Sept. 18 meeting of the supervisors has been canceled.
