Rodrigues announces mayor campaign

John “Bo” Rodrigues, R-Palmerton, announced his candidacy for mayor in Palmerton in the upcoming November election.

“As a lifelong resident of Palmerton, I care deeply about the future of our town and am committed to serving our community with transparency, dedication, and respect,” he said. “I understand the values, history, and spirit that make Palmerton such a special place to live. I want to ensure that future generations enjoy the same sense of community, safety, and pride that I grew up in.”

Rodrigues, a graduate of Palmerton Area High School, earned his bachelor’s degree in studio arts from Muhlenberg College, where he also played four years of collegiate football, winning two consecutive conference championships and qualifying for the national playoffs.

Professionally, he has been employed for over 14 years at BerkOne in Bethlehem, where he works as a design/print engineer.

He has coached locally at the high school and youth levels in various sports and remains active in his community. He is a member of the Palmerton Hungarian Club, F&AM Lodge 440, Royal Arch Chapter 292, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, and Rajah Shriners.

“I look forward to meeting with residents, listening to their ideas, and working together for a stronger Palmerton,” he said.
