The Greenwood Street railroad crossing in Tamaqua will be closed to traffic from Sept. 10-23.
The Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad will be reconstructing the railroad crossing beginning at 7 a.m. Sept. 10.
The railroad will be raising the height of the rails and resurfacing the approaches to the crossing. The work will take about two weeks to complete.
Greenwood Street between Cedar Street and Arlington Street, as well as Hazel Street from Patterson Street to Greenwood Street, will be closed to through traffic all week. Drivers traveling in the vicinity of the crossing should expect delays and allow for additional travel time.
Normal traffic patterns will be restored as soon as possible after the repairs are done.
Hazle Street will also be posted for no parking and closed to traffic on various days of the week of Sept. 22 for resurfacing.
