Fifth annual Weisstock had contests, entertainment

A family fun festival with live entertainment, vendors, food and kids activities was once again a smash hit.

The fifth annual Weisstock wrapped up its two-day run in the Weissport Park over the weekend, according to event coordinator Nicole Baker.

“Weisstock was a bunch of fun and successful,” Baker said. “Over 135 baskets in the raffle, lots of guests from near and far, new entertainment such as Extreme Hybrid Wrestling, and Weisstock’s Got Talent were a big hit with the crowd.”

Baker said the festival was held as a fundraiser for St. Peter’s Community Resource Center and the Weissport Event Committee.

Event sponsors were AOK Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical, G&D Contracting, Law Office of Kim M. Gillen, GOLD Outdoor Living and Design, Carbon Foot and Ankle Center, Liberty AutoGlass and Castle Gate Realty.

Along with entertainment, other activities included the Kid Zone, cakewalk, basket raffle, limbo contest, judging for “Best Pizza in Carbon County,” Extreme Hybrid Wrestling and Weisstock’s Got Talent.

Baker urged everyone to follow them on Facebook @Weisstock to see what’s in store for next year’s event.
