State police at Fogelsville - crashes
State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:
• A 17-year-old New Tripoli boy was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 7:13 p.m. July 29 on Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township. He was uninjured in the crash.
Police said he was driving a 2022 Ford Escape when he lost control of it while negotiating a turn. The vehicle traveled down an embankment and went through a chain-link fence before striking the back porch of a residence.
• Matthew A. Correll, 48, of Palmerton, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:32 p.m. Aug. 17 on Interstate 78 in Allentown.
He was driving a 2025 Audi eastbound when it struck debris in the roadway.
• One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 6:22 p.m. Aug. 14 on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township.
Police said Oneida Espinal, 45, of Allentown, was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.
Police did not provide the details of the crash except to say it involved a 2016 Kenworth driven by Michael F. Royer, 54, of Millville, New Jersey; a 2006 Toyota Matrix driven by Espinal; and a 2003 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by Leia G. Glassberg, 18, of New Tripoli. Royer and Glassberg were uninjured.
Royer was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Tiffany L. Rex, 31, of Lehighton, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 6:47 p.m. Aug. 20 on Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township. She and two girls, ages 2 and 8, who were passengers in the vehicle, were uninjured.
Rex was driving a 2021 Nissan Rogue southbound when it traveled off the roadway and hit a sign post. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Makayla M. Heintzelman, 22, of New Tripoli, had minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 1:37 p.m. Aug. 20 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.
They said she was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee was traveling too fast for conditions when the vehicle left its lane of travel, struck a utility pole and then struck corn crops.
It was towed from the scene, police said.
Heintzelman was cited after the crash.
