Police said he was placed in custody and transported to the Lehigh County Booking Center.

• A motorist who was driving a vehicle that ran out of gas on Route 309 in Lynn Township returned to the car while police were at the scene and now faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they were called to the scene at 8:47 p.m. Aug. 10 for a report of a disabled motorist and subsequently placed the operator under arrest.

• A 38-year-old New Tripoli woman was arrested on charges of simple assault after police were called to an incident on Jefferson Court, Lynn Township, at 7:02 a.m. Aug. 13.

Police said a 42-year-old New Tripoli man told them the woman struck him in the genitals.

• Police responded to an identity theft incident at the Academy Sports and Outdoor business on Herber Road, Lowhill Township, at 5 p.m. Aug. 20.

They said someone was able to apply for and obtain a credit card using the name and information of a 44-year-old New Tripoli man, after which that person purchased multiple items.
