State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:

• A 17-year-old boy from Mertztown was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:51 p.m. Aug. 6 on Weidasville Road in Lowhill Township.

Police said he was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer about 500 feet north of Horseshoe Road when the vehicle exited the roadway and hit a utility pole. It had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

The teen was cited after the crash, according to police.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:42 a.m. Aug. 13 on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Larry A. Meixsell, 69, of Slatington, was driving a 1998 Freightliner westbound when it struck the rear of a 2014 Western Star operated by Nicholas M. Mitcho, 32, of Beaver Meadows.

Police said the Freightliner had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, while the Western Star had minor damage.

• Jordyn T. Mohr, 24, of New Tripoli, was uninjured when the car she was driving hit a deer at 8:55 p.m. Aug. 5 on King’s Highway in Lynn Township.

Police said the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• Tamara L. Hottinger, 51, of Kempton, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 5:02 p.m. Aug. 18 on Golden Key Road in Lynn Township. Police said she refused a medical transport from the scene.

They said she was driving a 2017 Honda northbound when she swerved to avoid striking an animal in the road. The vehicle exited the roadway and hit a utility pole before reentering the road, crossing both lanes and landing in a drainage ditch.

The Honda was towed from the scene, police said.

• A 17-year-old boy from New Tripoli was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 9:06 a.m. Aug. 24 on Winding Road in Weisenberg Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Honda Pilot west when he became distracted and lost control of the vehicle. It traveled onto the northern shoulder of the road and hit a utility pole.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
