State Police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Ashley M. Feiling, 37, of Weatherly, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 2:57 p.m. Aug. 10 on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said she was driving a 2004 Honda Civic northbound when it unsafely passed a 2005 Honda Civic driven by Patrick M. Chestnut, 49, of Schnecksville. They said the right front passenger’s door struck the left quarter panel of the 2005 Honda, and Feiling fled the scene.

Chestnut was not injured in the crash. His car had functional damages, according to police.

• Six people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 6:44 a.m. Aug. 9 on Route 22 in Bethlehem Township.

Transported by personnel from the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company to area hospitals were Rayelle C. Krayem, 32, and a 6-year-old girl, both from Saylorsburg; Makkah A. Davis, 28, Taharah J. Davis, 30, and Sabriyyah B. Davis, 22, all of Whitehall; and Jarickson Marte Villar, 34, of Allentown.

Police said the severity of injuries sustained by Krayem, the 6-year-old and Marte Villar are unknown, while the Davises sustained minor injuries. Krayem and the girl were taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, while the other four were taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus, Easton.

Police said the crash occurred as Krayem was driving a 2014 Ford Escape at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck the rear of a 2014 Subaru Legacy driven by Makkah Davis, pushing it into the rear of a 2019 Honda CRV operated by Marte Villar. They said Davis and Marte Villar were stopped in the right lane of travel due to a traffic backlog.

After striking the Legacy, the Escape hit a concrete barrier while the Legacy continued to strike a guide rail.

Krayem was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, police said.
