Nesquehoning police, in conjunction with the Nesquehoning Recreation Commission, will hold their annual National Night Out event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 5.
The event will take place on the grounds of the police department and recreation center, located on the 300 block of West Railroad Street.
“We look forward to everyone coming out,” Police Chief Bradley Hess said. “It’s a nice event for the community.”
Residents can enjoy a photo booth, bounce house, tour the borough fire apparatus, talk with police and more.
There will be hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy and other foods available.
Donations for residents at MapleShade Meadows, the assisted living facility in Nesquehoning, are also being accepted.
Beanies, hats, body wash and shampoo for men and wall decorations and clip-on earrings for women are appreciated.
In addition to the event, the recreation commission is also holding a Crazy Cone Day ice cream social on Aug. 24 to ring in the new school year.
The event is open to all borough children ages 12 and under and will take place at How Sweet It Is Ice Cream on East Catawissa Street from noon to 4 p.m.
Parents must show a proof of residency for children to receive a free medium ice cream.
