Motorcycle rider flown to hospital

David E. Parker, 24, of Saylorsburg, had suspected serious injuries after a motorcycle-vehicle crash at 12:48 p.m. July 12 on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, police said.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported that he was transported by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services to a waiting LifeFlight helicopter and taken to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Police said the crash occurred as he was riding a 2024 Yamaha motorcycle west when he lost control of it.

They said the cycle went onto its right side and then began to slide.

Parker fell off the motorcycle and landed on the shoulder of the road, hitting a guide rail.

Police said the cycle struck the back window of a 2025 Nissan Murano driven by Freida C. Lange, 77, of Lincoln, Nebraska, before it hit the guide rail.

The motorcycle was removed from the scene, while the Nissan was able to be driven from the scene.

Parker was cited after the crash, according to police.
