State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 63-year-old Slatington man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:38 p.m. June 27 on Lehigh Drive in Palmerton.
Police said he was driving a 1993 Ford Ranchero that was stopped for violations of Title 75.
• A 61-year-old Saylorsburg woman reported a theft to police.
She said that between 6:30 a.m. June 25 and 10:30 a.m. June 26, someone stole a brown and yellow recycling bin from her property on Pine Court, Ross Township.
The bin is valued at $76, police said.
• Police were called to a property on Church Road, Towamensing Township, at 2:50 p.m. June 26 when a woman reported a possible identity theft incident.
They said the victim is a 73-year-old woman.
• A 52-year-old man was cited for harassment by threatening physical contact after police were called to an incident at 9:39 p.m. June 24 on Station Street in Towamensing Township.
Police said a 52-year-old woman, who is the wife of the suspect, reported the incident. They said they responded to an incident where the woman reported that after troopers left her residence her husband agreed to sleep outside in a camper for the night to avoid further conflicts but reentered the house, where he made verbal threats.
Police said the man told them he had no intentions of harming his wife, but only went back into the home to get a glass of water.
• A 69-year-old Kresgeville woman was targeted in a theft by deception/ATM card incident police were called to at 11:53 a.m. June 22 on Interchange Road in Polk Township.
She told police someone attempted to use her Best Buy credit card account for an online transaction that was declined by the business.
