Lehighton man taken to hospital after crash

Keith M. Schnell, 83, of Lehighton, was injured in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Airport and Catasauqua roads in Hanover Township, state police at the Bethlehem barracks said.

The crash occurred at 10:20 a.m. on June 3.

Police said Schnell was transported by personnel from the Northampton Regional emergency medical services corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.

The crash occurred, police said, when he was driving a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan northbound on Airport Road and continued through a steady green light, striking the passenger side of a 2017 BMW operated eastbound on Catasauqua Road by Allison Kocher-Remaley, 45, of Bethlehem, and pushing it into a 2023 Honda Civic operated by Michael C. Kotch, 33, of Allentown.

Police said Kocher-Remaley and Kotch were uninjured, but Justin A. Remaley, 47, of Bethlehem, a passenger in the BMW, was hurt. He refused a medical transport from the scene, police said.
