State police at Fogelsville

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police are investigating the theft of a semitrailer from a parking lot on Golden Key Road in Weisenberg Township. Police said the 2009 Great Dane trailer was taken between noon June 4 and 6 a.m. June 5. The victim is a 38-year-old man from Breinigsville.

• Police said they were contacted by Weis Markets in Macungie about retail thefts that have been occurring since Jan. 1. According to police, a person is “under-scanning” items at the self checkout. Police are investigating.

The store also reported that another person left the store with stolen items at noon on June 6.

• A 35-year-old Kutztown woman was charged by police with drug possession after a 10:08 a.m. May 28 traffic stop on Route 309 in South Whitehall Township. Police did not release the suspect’s name.

• Police were able to return a wallet that was found in Lynn Township to its owner at 8:25 p.m. May 26.

• Daniel Murphy, 39, of Boonton, New Jersey, man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run following a 9:11 a.m. June 5 crash on the 2300 block of Seipstown Road in Weisenberg Township, police said.

• A sobriety checkpoint on Lower Macungie Road in Lower Macungie Township from late June 6 into early June 7 resulted in three arrests for driving under the influence.

Police said that they made contact with 35 motorists at the checkpoint.
