State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 64-year-old Saylorsburg woman and a 41-year-old man from Tafton are the victims of a false reports/statements to law enforcement authorities report after police were called to Pine Ridge Road, Chestnuthill Township, at 12:26 a.m. March 31.
Police said a man called their barracks to report a woman had killed a pet cat and was threatening self-harm at the Pine Ridge Road location. They said contact was made with the homeowner, who lives alone and police assistance was not required. Police said the man made a second call to their barracks and told troopers the woman lived at a different address in Pike County. They said a man at the Pike County residence said the woman did not live there and everything “was fine” at that residence.
• Kathlynn Taylor, 42, of East Stroudsburg, is facing theft charges as a result of an incident police were called to at 12:58 p.m. March 31 on Parkside Avenue, Tobyhanna Township.
Police said a 39-year-old woman from Elmhurst, New York, and a 59-year-old woman from Rego Park, New York, told them they paid Taylor $16,000 to do home renovations on their property and run it as an Airbnb.
Police said Taylor kept the money and did not complete the work as required.
• Police are investigating the theft of a firearm from a 63-year-old woman from Effort.
They were called to Brian Lane, Chestnuthill Township, where the woman reported her G2C Taurus 9 mm semi-automatic pistol was stolen between April 1 and May 8.
The gun is valued at $269.95, police said.
• A Stroudsburg father reported to police that his son had gone into his cellphone to log into the man’s Wells Fargo Bank account and transfer money into his account.
The theft by disposition of funds incident was reported at 7:31 p.m. May 19 on Rainbow Way, Jackson Township.
Police said Andrew Hills, 65, reported that his son, Daniel T. Hills, transferred $763 into his account before fleeing the scene.
• A 60-year-old Saylorsburg man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a property on Darcy Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 11:18 p.m. May 21.
Police said a 25-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported the man broke a door down within the residence, injuring her.
• Kelly Wilkins, 39, of Palmerton, was cited for retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the ShopRite store on Kinsley Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 4:35 p.m. May 23.
Police said she was caught stealing $238.90 worth of household items.
They said an additional incident occurred on May 10 when she was caught stealing $95.41 worth of various items.
• A 23-year-old Albrightsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 12:22 a.m. May 26.
He was stopped in a 2013 Dodge Ram truck for Motor Vehicle Code violations on Toll Road in Tunkhannock Township.
