State police at Fogelsville - crashes
State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Police responded to a hit-and-run at 8:01 a.m. May 31 on Camp Meeting Road, Lynn Township.
They said an unknown vehicle left its lane of travel, hit an unoccupied 2012 Honda Civic owned by Christina A. Figueroa, 39, of New Tripoli, and then left the scene.
Police said the incident was captured on video and the investigation is continuing.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:47 p.m. May 31 at the intersection of routes 309 and 143 in Lynn Township.
Police said it involved a 17-year-old girl from Whitehall who was driving a 2012 Ford Edge and Charlene E. Thomson, 56, of Tamaqua, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup.
Police said the girl was cited after the crash.
They were assisted at the scene by a local towing service.
• Four people had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 12:49 p.m. May 18 in Weisenberg Township.
Police said Kayla A. Schlicher, 22, of New Tripoli, the driver of one of the vehicles, and three passengers, girls ages 9, 13 and 14, all also from New Tripoli, were transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to an area hospital after the crash.
Police said the crash occurred as Kiley P. Althouse, 22, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2016 Audi westbound when she failed to yield to traffic and traveled into the intersection of Lyon Valley Road and Golden Key Road, at which time the Audi hit a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Schlicher.
Police said the Jetta then spun clockwise and struck an embankment.
The Audi had minor damage, police said, while the Jetta had disabling damage.
Althouse was cited after the crash, according to police.
She and a passenger, Shayna M. Yandsersits, 23, of New Tripoli, were uninjured in the crash, police said.
