State police at Bethlehem - crashes
State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:
• Walter L. Schultz, 66, of Allentown, was injured after a one-vehicle crash at 12:57 p.m. May 17 on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township. They said the severity of his injuries in unknown.
Police said he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when he had a diabetic emergency and the vehicle traveled off the roadway and rolled onto its right side.
Police said he had to be extricated from the vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
• Jason J. Tulish, 44, of Easton, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 9:03 a.m. May 14 on Bellview Road, North Whitehall Township.
Police said he was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound when it traveled across the opposing lane and hit a PPL utility pole. They said the impact caused a 7,200-volt primary power line to strike a residence and ignite a fire.
Police said the vehicle had disabling damage, and the pole and power line were severed.
The Neffs, Schnecksville and Tri-Clover fire companies responded, while an estimated 337 customers of the area were left without power and the road was closed for about four hours.
Police said Tulish was cited after the crash.
• Felix DeLeon, 53, of Allentown, was charged after a crash at 10:20 p.m. May 13 on Route 873 in Washington Township.
Police said he faces charges of driving under the influence and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, as well as other charges.
Police did not provide the details of the crash but said the victim is a 65-year-old woman from Lehighton.
A 2007 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2005 Toyota Camry, were towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:57 p.m. May 13 at the intersection of Route 873 and Shady Nook Road, Washington Township.
Police said a 16-year-old boy from Breinigsville was driving a 2013 Toyota 4-Runner, in which Aubree L. Unger, 43, of Slatington, was a passenger, when the teen attempted to negotiate a right turn into the northbound lane of Route 873 as a vehicle was approaching. They said the boy overcorrected the turn and the vehicle struck a guard rail. It had to be towed from the scene.
The teen was cited after the crash, police said.
• Police were summoned to a hit-and-run crash at 9:12 p.m. May 15 at Route 309 and Education Park Drive, North Whitehall Township.
Police said the crash occurred when William A. Krause, 20, of Allentown, driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna, was stopped in the left turn lane from Route 309 to Education Park Road. They said an unknown vehicle struck the driver side front fender area of the Sienna, after which time the striking vehicle fled the scene.
Police said the Sienna had fender, door and window damage.
• A 34-year-old Breinigsville man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 2:24 a.m. May 4 on Saegersville Road, Heidelberg Township.
Police said he was driving a 2022 Toyota Tundra that was involved in the crash. Police determined he was impaired to a degree that made him incapable of safe driving.
