Jon Lovitz, who scored his career breakthrough with “Saturday Night Live” in the mid-1980s, leads the entertainment hitting local and regional venues over the next two weeks.

The actor/comedian, who as pathological liar Tommy Flanagan uttered “Yeah, that’s the ticket” on “SNL,” performs at Wind Creek Event Center. Lovitz played one of his most beloved roles, baseball scout Ernie Capadino, in 1992’s “A League of Their Own.

Among other entertainment highlights: Dire Streets Legacy plays Penn’s Peak; J.R. Richards, original lead singer of rock band Dishwalla, performs at Signature Event Center; and The Beach Boys bring the group’s catalog of hits to State Theatre.

For fans of zombie films, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater hosts the 11th Zombie-Fest, with “Return of the Living Dead” actor Thom Mathews attending May 23.

• Sammy Kershaw, 8 p.m. May 29. Kershaw’s run of 11 top 10 country-radio hits includes “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” “Third Rate Romance” and “Love Of My Life.”

• Dire Straits Legacy, 8 p.m. May 30. The group performs music by British rock band Dire Straits, which formed in 1977 and disbanded in 1995. Dire Straits Legacy features, among others, Alan Clark, Dire Straits’ first keyboardist. Dire Straits hit singles include “Sultans of Swing,” “Money for Nothing” and “Walk of Life.”

• Draw the Line, 8 p.m. May 31. The band pays tribute to rock group Aerosmith. Draw the Line takes its name from Aerosmith’s 1977 album and song of the same name

• The Castaway Band, 6:30 p.m. June 5. The group performs classic rock and other genres.

• Grateful Dub, 8 p.m. May 23. Roots of Creation created a reggae-infused tribute to Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, reworking some of the Dead’s songs into a studio album.

• Get Poison’d, 8 p.m. May 24. The act pays tribute to rock band Poison.

• Popa Chubby, 8 p.m. May 30. Born in the Bronx, New York, the blues-rock singer/guitarist released his major-label debut “Booty and the Beast” in 1995.

• Boat House Row, 8 p.m. May 31. The band performs yacht rock, a brand of soft rock. Notable “yacht rockers” include Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.

• Fifth Mom & Son Dance, 6 p.m. May 23. The center and the Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission present the event, set to include a DJ, photographer and light refreshments.

• Gallery Reception: “I’m Fine, Schuylkill: Sculpting Mental Health Conversations,” 5:30 p.m. May 29. Schuylkill County high school students, marking Mental Health Awareness Month, created ceramic masks signifying emotional “masks” people wear to hide struggles and the bravery in removing them. The exhibit wraps its run on June 7.

• Zombie-Fest XI, 6 p.m. May 22-25. The event, presented in association with Exhumed Films, kicks off with the 1982 anthology “Creepshow.” Thom Mathews, who played Freddy in 1985’s “Return of the Living Dead,” will attend said film’s May 23 screening. The lineup also includes 1985’s “Re-Animator,” 1988’s “Waxwork” and 2003’s “Beyond Re-Animator.”
