Valley Christian Preschool showcases artwork

What do wacky birds, puppy adoptions and stained glass windows have in common?

They are some of the impressive works of art that were created by students of Valley Christian Preschool and displayed recently at an art show held at the Zion Church Social Hall in the Lewistown Valley.

The 3- and 4-year-old students of Harriet Gustus, Jean Brennan, Michelle Russell and Amber Murphy enjoyed making their one-of-a-kind creations for their big night. The students were eager to show off their works on that special night.

Organizers thought of everything: art, yummy refreshments and gift basket prizes.

Teacher Amber Murphy created a backdrop for picture taking, helping to make the happy memories lasting.

Parents, grandparents and families were amazed at the creativity of each child.

“This was a wonderful event! Aria was so excited and proud to come to this. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into it. It was definitely a core memory,” said one parent.

A proud grandmother was amazed. “This was one of the sweetest events I’ve ever been to! I loved everything about it!”

The director of the school, Carolyn Fisher, remarked, “A beautiful evening of enjoying friendships and delightful art work.”

Picasso would have been proud. After all, he knew, “Every child is an artist.”
