State police at Schuylkill Haven - crashes
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following crashes:
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:498 p.m. April 30 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township.
Police said it happened when Brach D. Gibbons, 42, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2008 Honda Fit that “rear-ended” a 2022 Ford driven by Mark C. O’Hearn, 56, of Ashland, after the latter had slowed down in a construction zone.
Police said both vehicles had minor damage.
• Quincy Adams, 46, of Easton, was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle crash at 3:12 p.m. April 24 at the intersection of Route 61 and Market Street in Deer Lake. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said Adams was driving a 2006 Volvo that attempted to avoid “rear-ending” a 2023 Kenworth driven by Jebryon Boyd, 34, of Metairie, Louisiana, that was legally stopped. They said the Volvo sideswiped the right side of Kenworth and became struck between it and a concrete barrier.
Police said the Volvo was towed from the scene.
• Francis M. Courtney Jr., 59, of Kaska, is facing charges of driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash at 2:51 a.m. March 23 on Mauch Chunk Street in Port Carbon. He was uninjured in the incident.
He was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Trax that hit a guide rail, police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police said he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and also cited after the crash.
• Josue Gonzalez Jr., 19, of Port Clinton, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 4:08 p.m. May 2 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound when it began to hydroplane, and continued through the intersection with Mount Carbon Arch Road and onto the east shoulder, where it hit an embankment.
