State police at Lehighton
State police at Lehighton report the following incidents:
• A 43-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife, from Kunkletown, were both cited for harassment by physical contact after the man went to the state police barracks at 12:30 p.m. April 9 to report they had been fighting for three days at their property on Floyd Drive, Polk Township.
The man told police his wife shoved him against the refrigerator, threw a laundry basket and food at him and scratched him in the head.
Police said the woman told them her husband shoved her against the refrigerator.
• A 56-year-old Lehighton woman reported a theft to police at 7:10 p.m. April 10.
She told police someone entered her garage at on Centre Street in Parryville and took a black bag containing several items, including a Springfield firearm, a Pennsylvania driver’s license and a Social Security card.
• Steven Yeager, 67, of Mount Bethel, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 3:29 a.m. April 14.
He was stopped in a 2016 Subaru in the 200 block of North First Street, Lehighton.
• Police said they were summoned to a harassment by physical contact complaint in which a 16-year-old girl from Saylorsburg is the victim, but made a referral in the case because it was determined the offense took place out of state.
They arrived at to a property on Route 115, Ross Township, to investigate the incident alleged to have been between a parent and the minor. They said the investigation determined no crime occurred in Pennsylvania.
• Jonathan Sterling, 52, of Lehighton, was targeted in a theft by deception incident he reported to police at 3:56 p.m. April 18.
He told police that his debit card was fraudulently used and charged $2,600.
• Keith Formisano, 51, of Jim Thorpe, is facing charges of aggravated assault and other offenses after police were called to an inactive domestic incident at 3:39 p.m. April 19 at a property on Behrens Road, Penn Forest Township.
Police said the victims are a 30-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, both from Jim Thorpe. They also said a 1994 Ford F-150 was involved in the incident.
• Police said the driver of a vehicle they stopped at 10:28 p.m. April 19 on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police did not identify the driver or the driver’s hometown or type of vehicle.
• A 53-year-old Lehighton woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:22 a.m. April 23. She was stopped in a 1996 Honda Accord for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Lehigh Drive, Lehigh Township.
