May 10, 1978 — Panther Valley’s baseball and softball teams both post shutout wins against Shenandoah Valley. Ed Shubeck, Ed Kusko and Bob Roman combine on a three-hitter in the baseball contest as the Panthers gain an 8-0 victory. Bill Mogilski, Roman and John Staivecki all collect two hits for PV, while Dave Stanko and Dave Bonner both contribute two RBIs. In the softball game, Ann Louise Kusko pitches a five-inning no-hitter in the Panthers’ 14-0 decision. Kusko strikes out five and receives plenty of offensive support. Lisa Digilio finishes 4-for-4 with five RBIs, while Brenda Morgans ends with three hits and four RBIs. Christy Phillips adds two hits, one a homer.
