Man taken to hospital after 2-vehicle crash

Carlos E. Galloza, 32, of Lehighton, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 2:12 p.m. April 18 at the intersection of Maury and Firetower roads in Penn Forest Township, state police at the Lehighton barracks said.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said the crash occurred as Galloza was driving a 2018 Mazda northbound on Maury Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Firetower Road when it was unsafe to do so.

While negotiating the turn, the Mazda hit a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan traveling south on Maury Road, police said.

The driver of that vehicle, Daisha L. Tinajero, 40, of Jim Thorpe, was uninjured, police said.

Both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Galloza was cited after the crash, according to police.
