State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• Shaedon Tobin, 18, of Lansford, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 3:20 a.m. March 1, police said.
He was stopped in a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier for a Motor Vehicle Code violation in the 1800 block of Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West, Mahoning Township.
• Don Nothstein, 52, of Lehighton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:43 a.m. March 4, police said.
He was stopped in the 1000 block of Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.
• Michael Kurlak, 53, of East Greenville, is facing theft of motor vehicle charges stemming from an incident at 4:51 a.m. March 17 on Mahoning Drive East, Mahoning Township.
A Lehighton resident reported his 2000 Ford Ranger was stolen from his residence. Police said state police at the Fogelsville barracks recovered the pickup truck shortly after it was stolen and found Kurlak to be in possession of it.
• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident that occurred between March 19-23 on Upper Smith Gap Road, Ross Township.
The victims are a 68-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman, both from White Haven.
Police said house siding was damaged and estimated at $900, and a deer head and turtle ornaments worth $20 were also damaged.
• Police were called at 11:06 a.m. March 7 to assist with a missing person on Palm Drive, Towamensing Township.
They said a 92-year-old man who has dementia left his residence. He was located about 1:30 p.m. on an adjacent property and taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, for medical attention.
• A 35-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 12:45 p.m. March 8.
He was stopped in a 2005 Subaru Forester for Motor Vehicle Code violations on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East in Lehighton.
• Police said a man walked into their barracks to report unrecognized transactions on his Navy Federal Credit Union debit card.
He told police he is out $900 that was debited from Microsoft Xbox.
• A 48-year-old Stroudsburg man was cited for harassment after police were called to Interchange Road, Towamensing Township, at 4:55 p.m. March 11.
A 27-year-old man from Lehighton said the suspect entered his property and made statements that alarmed and annoyed him. 13.
• Two 16-year-old Palmerton girls were cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to a fight at the Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township, at 11:05 a.m. March 13.
• Gretchen Pettit, 55, of Kunkletown, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:07 a.m. March 16, police said.
She was stopped in a 2016 Chevrolet at 287 Chestnut Ridge Drive, Eldred Township.
• A 45-year-old Lehighton woman was cited for simple trespass following an incident at 2:17 p.m. March 16 on Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said the victim is a 75-year-old Palmerton man.
