State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Tiffany C. Silva, 36, of West Lawn, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:58 p.m. April 15 on Clamtown Road in East Brunswick Township.

Police said she was driving a 2011 Dodge Caravan westbound when she swerved to miss a large branch that was in her lane. The Caravan traveled onto the center median and struck a piece of metal that was attached to it, resulting in the minivan’s gas tank rupturing.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.

• Police said Zackary J. Kessler, 30, of Middleport, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 12:29 a.m. April 13 on Valley Street in New Philadelphia.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Subaru Forester southbound when he attempted to negotiate a left curve in front of a business at 400 Valley Street. They said the vehicle left the shoulder of the road, struck a cement wall, traveled back onto the southbound shoulder and then hit a traffic sign.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Kessler was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville, for a blood draw.
