Northern Lehigh School District hires assistant to superintendent
Northern Lehigh School District has hired a new confidential administrative assistant to the superintendent.
On a 7-0 vote, the school board last week hired MaryJo King to the position, effective no later than Aug. 26.
Directors Gale Husack and Natalie Snyder were absent.
The five-year agreement spans from Aug. 26 through June 30, 2029.
It calls for a base salary of $58,000, which will be prorated for the 2024-2025 school year.
Effective July 1, 2025, King will receive a salary for the 2025-2026 school year of $60,000.
Each July 1 thereafter through the duration of the agreement, King will receive a yearly salary increase of 3% upon a rating of satisfactory performance.
The base salary will be adjusted in the amount of $500 on July 1 after every subsequent five years of service before receiving the yearly salary increase percentage.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link welcomed King to the district.
In turn, King, who was in attendance, thanked them for their support.
Additional revenues
Also on Monday, business manager Sherri Molitoris announced that the district has received an additional $231,000 in revenue following the passing of the state governor’s budget.
Molitoris said that $99,000 of that can be used for current items in the district’s budget, while roughly $131,000 is for the Mental Health and Safety Security Grant and must be used for that purpose.
Other business
The board also approved the following items at last week’s meeting
• Monica Stoeckel, mentor, for MaryJo King, new employee, $200.
• Agreement with Bucks County Intermediate Unit to comply with the requirement, goals and to strive to accomplish the objectives of Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program.
