Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following curriculum and instruction matters last week:

• Purchase Amplify DIBELS-8 mCLASS universal screener and intervention system for three years, including professional development at a cost of $49,026, with the cost of the screener and intervention to be divided equally between Peters Elementary and Slatington Elementary building budgets, and professional development to be funded through curriculum and instruction budget.

• Purchase Miller-Levine Biology, and Miller-Levine Environmental Science from SAVAAS publishing to be used for high school Biology and high school Environmental Science courses to be funded through the curriculum and instruction budget for Year 1 through the high school building budget thereafter.

• Purchase three years of School AI for online A1 tutoring licenses and the associated professional development for $10,480, to be funded through ESSER III-B.

• Purchase Mystery Science for Peters Elementary School, an addition to the existing use of the platforms for science instruction at Slatington Elementary School for a cost not to exceed $3,350, to be paid for equally from the Peters Elementary School and Slatington Elementary School building budgets.

• Missy Bowers, helping teacher, for Matthew Kipple (Year 1 and 2), Matthew Davis, helping teacher, for Abigal Merkle (Year 2), Tammy Fristick, helping teacher, for Samuel Yadush (Year 2), Greg King, helping teacher, for Jonathan Potynski (Year 2), Lauren Schuster, helping teacher, for Lexi Meckes (Year 2), and Amanda Bariana, helping teacher, for Brian Skrapits (Year 2), all at a stipend of $800 per year.

• Karent Beltz, mentor, for Janna Seip, $200 stipend.

Conferences

• Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link, ERDI Research and Development Summer Institute, July 9-12, Salt Lake City, Utah, with the cost of meals $180, and other $50, for a total cost of about $230, to be funded from the superintendent budget.

• Northern Lehigh Middle School Principal David Hauser, CFES Global Conference, Nov. 18-19, Burlington, Vermont, with the cost of travel $230, for a total cost of about $230, to be funded from the Northern Lehigh Middle School building budget.
