Tamaqua police charged Mary Bowen, 37, of Flanders, New Jersey, with violating a protection abuse order that was filed against her by a borough man.

Police said the man told officers at 11:10 a.m. March 12 that Bowen attempted to contact him around 11:30 p.m. March 11.

Police said Bowen “liked” and “viewed” the man’s profile on the Plenty of Fish dating app. The action then sent her photos to him.

The man told police that he did not respond to any messages but that her actions caused him anxiety and depression.

He asked that Bowen be charged with violating a protection from abuse order he filed against her in February.

Bowen was charged with indirect criminal contempt of court.
