Andreas VFW
The Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet at 7 p.m. March 13 at the West Penn Annex.
Breakfast for paid members and one guest will be held at 10 a.m. April 6 at the West Penn Diner on Route 443.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Jan. 29 with 28 members in attendance.
President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the reading, “Affinity.”
The seniors welcomed back Doris Brobst and Buddy Feinausen.
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Craft sale and basket raffle
A craft and vendor sale, along with a basket raffle will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 E. Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua.
There will be homemade food, soups and baked goods for sale, along with 50/50 drawings and door prizes.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim will offer the message of “God’s Help to Us” at the 10:30 a.m. service at Calvary Evangelical UM Church, Lewistown Valley. Special music will be presented. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Praise in Song Service is at 6:30 p.m. with a message by Terry D. Gerber.
The Lenten Service will be held at 7:15 p.m. March 13 with the People’s Choice hymn sing, followed by a service with the Rev. Bob Burkey sharing “The Melody of the Cross.”
St. Peter’s West Penn
Tuesday: 6 p.m. Prayer Group, and 7:15 p.m. play rehearsal.
March 13: 9 a.m. retirees, and 7 p.m. Lenten service at St. Peter’s.
March 17: Filling orders due; 10:15 a.m. Waffles and soup sale, and 6 p.m. church board.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
