A group opposed to the development of four truck terminals along a 2.2-mile stretch of Route 940 in Kidder Township intends to be heard.
The group, “LOVE Kidder Township” plans to attend the Kidder Township’s board of supervisors meeting at 5:30 p.m. today.
Formed to oppose the development of truck terminals in the township, the group said it plans to protest the proliferation of truck terminals.
“We are seeing that truck terminals are being rejected by other municipalities, and our township needs to address this now,” said Chuck Cutshall, one of the group’s organizers. “Our natural environment should not be sacrificed for speculative business ventures.”
Linda Christman, President of Save Carbon County, a local environmental group, agreed.
“We are supporting the efforts of the residents of Kidder Township to limit these truck terminals,” Christman said. “It is important to our creeks and our Lehigh River that these truck terminals be stopped.”
