Rush Township residents were concerned to hear about a possible high-end housing development in the village of Hometown.
The 43.22 acre site is along Joyce Street, and could allow for up to 166 homes, according to subdivision plans that were approved in 2008.
While plans were given the go-ahead, the development never happened, and the land was listed for sale.
In October, the land was purchased for $250,000 by Jimmy John Holdings, Wellesley, Massachusetts.
The original plans noted that the houses would be part of a homeowners association that would include a swimming pool and community center.
Residents told supervisors in November they were concerned about the size of the development, traffic and water run off issues.
The developer will have to resubmit the plans - either with or without revisions. Even though the plans had been approved years ago, the developer will need approvals for zoning, land development and stormwater.
As of late December, the township planners and zoners had received nothing from the developer.
“There is no more news or plans on the development. We don’t have anything,” said supervisors’ Chairman Shawn Gilbert.
