Mrs. Norbert V. Schwartz of Jim Thorpe experienced quite a thrill while vacationing with her family in the Adirondacks in New York.

While in The Lavender Shop at Lake Placid, she met Kate Smith, nationally famous vocalist of "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain" fame.The proprietress, who is hospitalized, is a close friend of Smith's, so the singer and a number of friends have been taking turns staffing the store in her absence. Smith owns a cottage at Lake Placid. She leaves each customer she serves with the greeting, "God bless you."
