An elderly woman was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when involved in a crash just before 3 p.m. along Route 209 in Towamensing Township.

The woman was driving south when she apparently lost control.Her car crossed over into the northbound lane entering the berm impacting with and snapping off a utility pole.The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then flown by Penn Star helicopter to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
