Times News carriers recognized
Each year the Interstate Circulation Managers Association recognizes the best carriers at member newspapers with the Betty J. Way Carrier of the Year Award.
The award is presented in honor of Betty J. Way, two-time past president, honorary member and recipient of the I-SCMA Achievement Award. This award exemplifies Way’s deep love and appreciation for newspaper carriers of all ages and the distinguished service they provide to their communities and customers.
This year three Times News carriers received the award for their excellent service to our customers.
Two winners received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions.
Alex Silfies was the winner in the category of youth carrier and received a plaque and a check for $250.
Jan Sickels won in the adult category and also received a check for $250 and a plaque.
Lori Gibson was runner-up in the senior category and received a certificate of recognition.
John Mandish, spokesperson for I-SCMA, said, “I want to express my gratitude to those individuals who play a vital role in ensuring that our products reach our loyal subscribers. On behalf of I-SCMA, we truly appreciate your continued dedication and effort.”
Christine Campbell, Director of Circulation and Community Outreach at Times News and Lehigh Valley Press, said, “It was no surprise to me when I heard three of our carriers won again. I work with these hardworking individuals on a daily basis, and I see firsthand their commitment to this newspaper, and I am so thankful to them.”
