Township candidates breeze into office unopposed

Rush Township

Rush Township voters came out to support George Gerhard, the sole candidate for a spot on the township board of supervisors.

The Republican candidate secured 909 vote during Tuesday’s general election, according to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau.

Gerhard will replace supervisor Jeaninne Motroni, who lost her bid for reelection in the May primary election.

Ryan Township

David R. Morgan received 407 votes for Ryan Township supervisor, according to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau.

Morgan, a Republican, was the only candidate.

Schuylkill Township

Schuylkill Township will welcome a new supervisor.

Voters stood behind lone candidate Mike Boyle. The Republican received 255 votes for a 6-year term on the board, according to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau.

Walker Township

Walker Township residents cast 253 votes for supervisor candidate Craig P. Wagner, according to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau.

Wagner is an incumbent and Republican. He was the only candidate for the board.

East Brunswick

Jeffrey A. Faust was reelected as an East Brunswick Township supervisor.

Unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau show that the Republican had 471 votes.

He was the only candidate.
