Franklin pair taken into custody

A Franklin Township pair wanted on numerous charges have been apprehended.

On Oct. 11, sheriff deputies arrived at an address in Lehighton to serve a warrant on Wendy Kneller for failing to appear for a hearing on drug paraphernalia and driving while under the influence charges.

When deputies arrived, Kneller and Thomas Schaub jumped into a vehicle and fled, nearly running over two deputies.

Schaub continued in reverse at a high rate of speed almost striking pedestrians that were at a bus stop waiting for their children.

Schaub was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, four counts of recklessly endangering another person and obstruction of justice. Kneller was charged with flight to avoid apprehension.

On Oct. 19, sheriff deputies surveilled an address in Lehighton where both Schaub and Kneller were believed to be staying.

Armed with search warrants, deputies forced their way into the residence after Schaub and Kneller would not come out. They were taken into custody and are in the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
