The growth in Penn Forest Township in the past several years has made that municipality the largest one in Carbon County from a voter registration standpoint.

The township now has 6,393 people enrolled in the elections office.The rising population prompted the county a few years back to split the election precincts from two to five. Now, as of the close of the voter registration period before the upcoming primary election, four of the five wards in the township have more than 1,000 registered voters, with the fifth one having 939 registered voters.A breakdown of registration totals in Carbon County's 11 townships is as follows:Banks Township Blank, 1;
