Lowes theft suspects face more charges

Mahoning Township police filed additional charges against three men arrested in a theft ring in July involving more than $7,300 in online orders at Lowes in Mahoning Township.

Angel Luis Rodriguez, 20, of Shenandoah; and Yofreinx Carrion-Taveraz, 22, and Diony Ulerio De Los Santos, 22, both unknown addresses, were already jailed in the Carbon County prison for two incidents on July 11 and 27.

Police have since filed additional charges for incidents that occurred July 7, 9 and 10 at the same store on Blakeslee Boulevard.

Rodriguez and Carrion Taveraz each face an additional two counts each of forgery, access device fraud and retail theft; and six counts each of related criminal conspiracy charges.

Ulerio De Los Santos faces an additional three counts each of forgery, retail theft and access device fraud, and nine counts of related criminal conspiracy charges.

District Judge Casimir Kosciolek set bail at $50,000 for each set of new charges, and the men were already held on $75,000 bail from their initial arrests in July.

The thefts involve online orders, in which the men go to the store, and one shows an online order number to pickup merchandise, which is paid for by credit card, and taken from the store. The store later learns that credit card purchases were fraudulent, court papers said.

Purchases in the latest set of charges include online orders valued at $1,965 and $1,991 on July 7; a John Deere tractor valued at $2,543 on July 9, and a chest freezer valued at $805 on July 10, court papers said.

The value of the merchandise in the most recent incidents totaled more than $7,300, and the trio also face charges for similar fraudulent purchases totaling another $7,100, according to court papers.

All three men waived all charges against them to Carbon County Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday.
