Carbon County Commissioners
In other business, the Carbon County commissioners acted on the following items:
• Authorized a grant extension with Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to provide drug/alcohol assessments at the county prison. The funding remains at $50,311.
• Approved the purchase of service agreements for Children & Youth with Children’s Home of Reading Youth & Family Services Inc., dba, Pennsylvania Forensic Associates of Reading, and Renaissance Psychological and Counseling Corp. Inc. of Kingston.
• Ratified a grant application for an Act 2022-88 Election Integrity Grant through the Pennsylvania State Department to support county election administration in the amount of $226,294.74
• Accepted proposals from Andres Appraisals of Palmerton to appraise the following farms for the farmland preservation at a cost of $3,000 each farm, not to exceed $15,000: Luisa Steele, Dennis and Deanna Cunfer, John and Janet Degenhart, William and Carol Ecker,; and Luke Miller Graver, Dandee M. Miller-Boyle, Diane L. Miller-Graver, Deanna L. Wentz and Sara J. Keiser.
• Approved a renewal agreement with Sirius Computer Solutions Inc. of San Antonio, Texas, for hardware maintenance from Oct. 1, 2023 to Sept. 30, 2024, for the IBM AS. 400 computer system in Fiscal Data at a cost of $2,836.
• Accepted the 2022/2023 State Food Purchase Program Fourth Quarter Expense and Data Report submitted by Shepherd House Inc. to the Department of Agriculture.
• Approved a renewal agreement with IntegraOne of Allentown, for Fortinet Unified Threat Management protection for the administrative building for July 27, 2023, to July 26, 2024, at a cost of $2,299.24.
• Approved banner requests for the Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected Annual Dog Show, Lehighton Downtown Partnership Spellbinding Street Festival and Shrine of St. Therese’s Shower of Roses.
• Approved an agreement with Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission of Stroudsburg, to provide drug and alcohol treatment counseling services for county prison through the end of the year at a cost of $31,167, which is paid through commissary funds.
• Approved change orders for the 525 Iron St. Project in Lehighton, as follows: two with Master Mechanical Corp. of McAdoo, decreasing the contract by $14,262.96, and two with Triangle Fire Protection of Carlisle, decreasing the contract by $4,000.
