The next volunteer project for the Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake state parks is a trail blazing and trail assessment.
The Friends group will hold its meeting at the Tuscarora visitors’ center at 9 a.m. Saturday
The project gets underway at 10 a.m. Groups of up to three people will walk a trail to determine whether blazes are visible from one to the next.
They should be a standard size unless the size of a tree dictates otherwise. As volunteers are hiking, trail maintenance needs should be documented and volunteers will accomplish at a later date.
Spray paint will be provided by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Park staff will explain the height, size and location at the meeting.
All are welcome.
