The Chestnuthill Township Planning Commission granted conditional plan approval for Jack Williams Tire and Auto Service Centers. All that is needed now is the approval of the supervisors.
If that approval is granted at the next supervisors' meeting on Tuesday, March 4, Jack Williams plans to begin building in April of this year.Dave Sutton, project manager for Trade Eastern who designs and builds the centers, says they are ready to go. The new store will be located between Brodheadsville Chevrolet and Dollar General on Route 209, Brodheadsville. There will be eight service bays, a showroom and parking for 51 cars. Sutton is hoping for an October 2014 store opening. The planning commission board completed reading the township's zoning and SALDO ordinances which involve the Regional Planning Commission. With some minor changes, the board is recommending that the supervisors adopt them.Supervisor Chairman Chuck Gould thanked the board for reading the ordinances."I know it's very dry reading," he commented. One of the reasons the supervisors asked the planning commission to read them is to make sure the township's ordinances will address any issues that may arise because of the upcoming activity that will be going on along Route 209 with the building of the new West End Healthcare Center, and other changes to the Route 115/Route 209 corridor.
