Mondays have been brutal on school schedules.
There have been a lot of cancellations or delays of school because of bad weather. This past Monday, most students finally had a complete school day.But will it be that way for two Mondays in a row?Probably not, according to the latest weather forecasts.Up to four inches of snow is forecast for Sunday night into Monday. Most TV meteorologists are already saying there likely will be a delay, or even a cancellation. The forecast discussion of the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. says there is potential for up to six inches north of Interstate 78, which would be our area.If that isn't enough, snow and/or freezing rain could fall Tuesday night into Wednesday.Don't fret because March arrives tomorrow after what most reporting stations say was the coldest February on record.Winter still isn't ready to release its frozen grip though. While on Monday temperatures could rise to near 40, more cold air is expected to dip from Canada and bring overnight lows in the single digits later this week.Don't get your hopes too high for March. Some of the worst blizzards in history have occurred during the month including the deadly Blizzard of 1888 (March 13), which resulted in five feet of snow in some areas and over 400 deaths. Then there was the Eastern U.S. "Superstorm" from March 12-14, which caused billions in damaged, 310 deaths and dropped records amounts of snow.
