Tamaqua residents know spring is definitely in the air when the street sweeper resumes its regular operations next week. Street sweeping will begin on Monday. Operations for the permanently posted streets will resume on Thursday. Sweeping on Thursdays and Fridays will start at 5 a.m. to minimize traffic disruptions on the borough's main streets. Other days, sweeping will begin at 7 a.m.
The permanently posted streets to be done on Thursday and Friday include East and West Broad, Berwick, Center, Pine, North and South Railroad and portions of Swatara and Nescopec.Streets will be posted in advance the day before they are scheduled to be swept. All parking will be prohibited. Vehicles not moved from posted streets at least two hours before the sweeper starts operations are subject to ticketing and towing.
