Rest Haven is a 142-bed facility on 55 acres of land at 401 University Drive, Schuylkill Haven.Under Schuylkill County ownership, Rest Haven provided care and offered nursing and rehabilitation services, Alzheimer’s care and respite care.Last year, the home achieved recognition on the 2014 U.S. News & World Report list for Best Nursing Homes in Pennsylvania.On Aug. 20, 2014, the Schuylkill County Commissioners unanimously approved the offering of Rest Haven for sale.On Sept. 15, 2014, the county issued the Request For Qualifications and Proposals, to which it received 10 responses.The county spent the remainder of the year reviewing the proposals and conducting due diligence on the potential purchasers, with a decision to move forward on the sale made on Feb. 4, 2015.After the county’s first choice to buy the home, Nationwide Healthcare Services of Brick, New Jersey, withdrew its offer, Investment 360, of Lakewood, New Jersey, was announced as the new purchaser of the facility on May 13, 2015, and a sale agreement and transaction documents were executed on June 1, 2015.Investment 360 bought Rest Haven for $11 million.
